Technological Suffocation!

cellphones-texting1

Have we allowed technology to invade our lives and threaten our ability to verbally socialize intelligently?  Are we discouraging verbal communication between children by texting and using gibberish language because atrocious spelling and abbreviations have replaced fundamental English?  Are ipods, computers, cell phones, etc. dulling our knowledge and interface with the atmosphere?  Language and its proper use can be beautiful and certainly a more delightful means of conveying our thoughts while providing the opportunity to observe body language as part of our social discourse.  The opportunity to reach out and touch someone should not be replaced electronically except when really necessary.
